About Our Pathashala
Preserving Vedic Knowledge
For Future Generations

Vedaḥ Śivaḥ, Śivo Vedaḥ, Vedādhyāyī Sadāśivaḥ |
Tasmāt Sarva-prayatnena Vedam Eva Sadābhyaset ||
The Veda is Shiva, and Shiva is the Veda. One who studies the Veda becomes a manifestation of Sadashiva. Therefore, every effort should be made to study, preserve, and propagate the Vedas.

The Name
Why "Sri Kashyapa Veda Vidya Mandiram"?
Sage Kashyapa Maharshi occupies a unique and exalted place in Sanatana Dharma. He is revered as the progenitor of humanity and one of the greatest sages in Vedic history. The Devas were born to his wife Aditi, and through Manu, one of their descendants, the human race originated. Thus, Kashyapa Maharshi is honored as the forefather of mankind.
The Vedas are Apaurusheya — eternal and not authored by any human being. While the Vedas themselves have no creator, great sages have revealed and explained their meanings. Among the foundational works that aid in understanding Vedic knowledge is the Nirukta, traditionally associated with Sage Kashyapa.
According to sacred tradition, after conquering the earth, Lord Parashurama offered the entire land as a gift to Sage Kashyapa. Because of this, the earth came to be known as Kashyapi. Whether viewed from the perspective of humanity, Vedic wisdom, or the very land we inhabit, the contributions of Kashyapa Maharshi are immeasurable. To honor this great Maharshi and his unparalleled service to Dharma, this institution was named Sri Kashyapa Veda Vidya Mandiram.
