Personal Ceremony
Celebrate Your Birthday at Our Veda Pathashala
One of the most distinctive offerings of Sri Kashyapa Veda Vidya Mandiram is the opportunity for families to mark a birthday or other personal occasion with an Shashthi Devi Puja performed by our Acharyas and students in the traditional Vedic manner.
The ceremony involves the chanting of specific Vedic hymns invoking longevity, health, and well-being, followed by a personalised Vedic name reading and blessings from the Head Acharya. Families receive prasadam and are welcome to spend time in the Pathashala, observing the daily life of the students.
This offering reflects our belief that Vedic ritual is not the preserve of large institutions or grand occasions alone — it belongs equally to the quiet, personal moments of a life lived in awareness of Dharma.
Annual Mahotsavam
Guru Purnima Mahotsavam
Guru Purnima is the most sacred day in the Vedic calendar — a day consecrated entirely to the veneration of the Guru. At Sri Kashyapa Veda Vidya Mandiram, the Mahotsavam begins at dawn with Pada Puja performed by students to their Acharyas, followed by an unbroken recitation of the Rigveda throughout the morning.
Senior Vedic scholars deliver discourses on the significance of Guru-Shishya Parampara, and the evening closes with a cultural programme presented by the students of the Pathashala — bhajans, sloka recitations, and traditional performances rooted in Vedic culture.
Families, well-wishers, and devotees from across the region gather to witness and partake in this celebration, making it the single most attended event of the year at the Mandiram.
Monthly Vedic Ritual
Chandi Parayana
The Chandi Parayana is a powerful and sacred Vedic ritual performed every month — an invocation of Goddess Chandi through the continuous recitation of the Devi Mahatmyam (Saptashati), conducted in strict accordance with ancient Vedic tradition.
Performed on the first Sunday of every month, the Parayana is led by a team of trained Ghanapathis under the guidance of Brahmasri Santosh Kumar Ghanapathi. The hall resonates with the unbroken chanting of the Saptashati from beginning to end, filling the space with the divine presence of the Goddess.
Community members and devotees are warmly welcome to attend, witness the Parayana, and receive prasadam and blessings at its conclusion. The ritual is conducted with complete adherence to Vedic procedure, without abbreviation or modification of any kind.
Scholarly Assembly
Vedic Scholars Sammelanam
The Vedic Scholars Sammelanam brings together Ghanapathis, Acharyas, researchers, and students of the Vedic tradition from across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and beyond. The assembly is a space for genuine scholarly exchange — on matters of Vedic interpretation, teaching methodology, textual preservation, and the challenges of propagating the tradition in the modern era.
Inaugural recitations by students are followed by panel discussions among senior scholars, presentations on specific aspects of Vedic literature, and open dialogue sessions. The Sammelanam is held in the spirit of the ancient Vedic sabhas — a living continuation of the culture of rigorous inquiry and respectful debate that has sustained the tradition for millennia.
